Since

1997

My parents and family came from Mexico. We came to the United States because it was the land of oppertunity. Here it was easy for parents to find a well paying job, and for us as kids to get a valuable and mandatory education. When my cousins and myself got here we all started school right away. All the way up until we graduated did things change. Many of my cousins only had visas, so they were not able to attend college like myself.

However, on August 15, 2o12, The Dream Act was taken into place. It gave people like my cousins the oppertunity to get residency, it also provided them with a 2 year work permit, as well as the ability to attend a college university. Now my cousins are all enrolled as full-time students, working on their degrees, and this was all made possible thanks to The Dream Act.
